It's Like a Design is Written in His Head Everytime...

I have always been a creative person at heart; however, I have never been a good student. A few years back I used to love drawing, and would draw everyday. Eventually, as I grew older, I became more sophisticated in arts; and still do to this day. I taught myself how to code using HTML, and also the ins and outs of Adobe Photoshop. In high school I would design signatures for forums, desktop wallpapers, banners, posters, and also websites for fun.

I have been using Photoshop since I was around 14. Right after high school I tried to take classes at Johnson & Wales for Web/Graphic Design, but I found that it was not for me. I knew it wasn't me, because I loved doing what I have been doing for the passed 6 years. Taken a break off of schooling for 2 years, I decided that something had to be done. Retail just wasn't cutting it. Going to Gibbs was the best decision I have made. Right away I liked it more then any other school I have been to; and also found myself learning and experiencing new things. Lastly it helped me increase my range of creativity.

I am proficient in the use of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Quark XPress, Macromedia Director, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and HTML/CSS.

I am going to use a qoute I got from an already VERY successful designer (met him via field trip)..

"The hardest thing to do in life, is to learn how to love yourself."

This opened up my mind, and made me realize something.. Believing in yourself is KEY; if you can't believe in yourself then who can?

In conclusion I would like to add: When friends and family believe in you, it makes all of the difference; and nothing can ever take that away.
