It is the same game as the last few with a couple of new things. IQ Test thing is a joke, neat little addition, but a joke nonetheless. And of course the league system, which could have been done way better. Is it just me, or does it seem like every year when you buy the new Madden game, you're just paying for roster updates? The game play seems to be the same, and unless I am mistaken, I cannot figure out how to do that cool little highlight thing as the QB - did they take that off?

Online play: For me, I have found Online play so un-playable (it even lags like hell when you're SCROLLING THROUGH THE PLAYBOOK), that I just play franchise or the computer for fun, but it gets boring. Oh and What the *BLEEP* did they do with the cool newspaper feature they had for franchise mode?! That was like my favorite thing...so now I am just pissed, and honestly, wish I never bought this trash.

EA Sports, you guys are going to lose die-hard Madden fans if this doesn't improve in the next series.

Ah that felt good to get off my chest, take care all!
Natehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03157998521922783443noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33881601.post-1362634144565795372008-09-03T15:25:00.005-04:002008-09-06T14:20:36.737-04:00Design Pro Nate - ProjectI know I have not been posting much lately. My sister kept bugging me to go get the new Guitar Hero Aerosmith, so I finally gave in and bought it (for $60+tax). We completed the entire game on Hard within the first 3 hours of owning it. I was extremely disappointed, not only because it didn't take long at all to complete, but the fact that MOST of the songs were quite repetitive, which annoyed the hell out of me. Not only that, but half the songs weren't even by Aerosmith... WTF!?

It doesn't seem like to me that they spent much time on this game and it was more of an attempt to give Rock Band a swift kick in the cajones. I learned something from that Stanley Cup. To listen to your gut. My gut was telling me to go with Detroit the entire way because of how solid their defense was and is, but I decided to go with the less experienced Penguins. Why? Not sure actually. Maybe it was my friend brain washing me into believing that they were the better team... who knows?

Anyway, that was a damn exciting Cup. Even though it didn't go to 7 games as I had hoped, it was still intense! Congrats to the Red Wings and their stout defense. Wow, they really took it to those young superstars that's for sure! I can't wait for next season.

Alright, I am sure most of you are aware that the NBA Finals is and has been going on for a week or so now. Celtics & Lakers. Boy does this ring my 'dejavu' bell! I am from around Boston, so of course I am rooting for the Celtics. Even though I am not a big Basketball fan myself, I hang on my pride. My prediction for these finals is, Celtics in 7 (unless they somehow win the next away game). So with that said, I will leave you all with a nice little chant that I will be yelling at the television when Boston doesn't have the ball... DEFENSE!!! DEFENSE!!! This is going to be one hell of a series! I was pretty much dead on the predictions last round, except for philly only winning 1 game instead of 2, but hey, no ones perfect. Anywho, let's see how I do this time.

This is probably the hardest prediction I have ever had to make... ever. I honestly do not have a clear winner in my mind. Detroit - the best defensive team, and Pittsburgh - the best offensive. Who will win? Some say a better defense is the way to go, I somewhat agree. But can they really contain the talent and skill that the Penguins have? I guess we will find out.

Pittsburgh 4
Detroit 3

I can't really say why I am choosing Pittsburgh right now. I guess maybe because they're a younger team, and I'm hoping they can outlast the older Redwings? Who knows. All I care about is that this series goes to 7 and its hard fought, each and every minute.Natehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03157998521922783443noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33881601.post-5124069424176178032008-05-06T12:52:00.006-04:002008-05-06T13:03:59.973-04:00Stanley Cup - Conference FinalsBefore I go into my predictions I first have to admit, that was some damn good hockey. The Flyers shocked the hell out of me though. I also didn't think Detroit would steam roll the Av's, but damn. 2 hat tricks in 4 playoff games? who would of thunk it... Amazing. Detroit is looking almost too good right now, but Dallas, let's just say they enjoy being the underdogs. I won't say anything on Pittsburgh because well, I am pretty sure we all expected them to go atleast this far.

Well, as I promised, here are my predictions for the Conference Finals:

Pittsburgh 4
Philadelphia 2

Detroit 4
Dallas 2

I would honestly be surprised if Philadelphia gets 2 on the Penguins, and the same for Dallas against Detroit. I gave them both 2 for the simple fact that, it's playoffs people, who knows what's about to happen? Therefore, I was nice and gave them each home wins :)

Again, once this round is complete, I will speak my thoughts on the Stanley Cup Finals. Until then, take care everybody...
Natehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03157998521922783443noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33881601.post-16082181157605665582008-04-29T00:02:00.004-04:002008-05-06T12:56:55.705-04:00Stanley Cup Playoffs - The PredictionsAlrighty, here comes my predictions for the rest of the Stanley Cup Playoffs:

Pittsburgh 4
New York 1

Montreal 4
Philadelphia 2

Detroit 4
Colorado 1

Dallas 4
San Jose 3

Once the semi's are complete I will then post my next predictions for the conference finals :) have a good day all!Natehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03157998521922783443noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33881601.post-1140665608300341492008-04-22T22:30:00.007-04:002008-04-22T22:46:26.027-04:00Big Bad Bears - Boston BruinsWell if you didn't see this post coming then I don't know what to say.
The Boston Bruins had one hell of a run in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Honestly, I didn't even think they would win 1 game, let alone come back from a 3-1 game deficit.

In game 7, they gave it their all in the beginning, and yes, they were outplaying Montreal. Well...until of course the ref decided to call some bullshit holding penalty on Chara. Then of course Montreal scored, and kept on scoring (scored once on another dumb call by, take a guess now...you got it, the ref). It's things like this that is making me dislike watching sports. I love all kinds of sports, but this passed year the officiating around every single league of every sport I have seen has been horrid. Like, my blind sister with one leg could do a better job bad (and no I don't have a blind one legged sister).

Its horrible, and it's getting worse. Bad calls turning good games completely around and possibly changing the outcome. I don't know what the hell is going on, but someone needs to do something.

Lastly, I don't want everyone to think I am completely against Refs and what not, they're just doing their job. Also, my best friend is a ref. He's part of the rare breed of ref's though, he's actually good at it. Hell I end up asking him why he isn't refereeing these big games instead of those dumbos.

Well, before I bore you all with any more of my ref bashing... I will end this ventation here.
Take care all!Natehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03157998521922783443noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33881601.post-61981472619336968542008-04-04T10:24:00.005-04:002008-04-04T10:36:07.175-04:00What Not To DesignI just wanted to let everyone know that I finally got around to making my first "What Not To Design" post. I for one, some how maintained a healthy system since last January. How? No clue... Usually I am sick all winter. But, every dog has its day and a few days ago I felt my first 'sickness' symptoms. I guess I forgot to knock on wood.

Thankfully for me, and my work, it was only about a 48 hour period of sickness. Wasn't all that bad (compared to the last time I had the flu when I had a 105 temp). I doubt it was the flu, but now it is merely an annoying sniffle and cough. Go figure, I couldn't of just stayed perfectly healthy for the next week or so to out last winter for the first time in my life, argh!

Anyway...Yesterday I saw on the news a little 6 year old just died from the flu. A very horrible thing to experience, and even more so in this millennium.

Remember to stay healthy all. Yes, this includes washing your hands after your trip to the bathroom. Amvona.com - the company I have worked for the passed year and a half or so, just launched "Amvona Trails".

We are all very excited about this new feature to our site and are expecting extraordinary results. The last few months have been hectik trying to get this puppy out the door and now it's partially off our backs...I say 'partially' because there will be bugs to fix, feedback to utilize, and as well as a few things we would like to update for it to be where we want it to be.

Anyway, please go over to Amvona's Blog @ http://amvona.blogspot.com/ to read our press release on this multi-dimensional tool. Actually, now that I think of it, it's not that amazing. They are assholes at heart, but to meet girls they lavish their undying love. IT'S A CHARADE. They act nice, friendly, and they listen… until they get into what they're after. Their prey thinks they are in love with them, however when they realize what assholes their predators really are, they pretend like the asshole is really nice inside. The girl tries to change the asshole into a nice guy, but assholes will always be assholes. She gets upset and goes to the nice guy to complain about the asshole. But she claims to love the asshole… now this is where the theory begins. She doesn't want to look like she is easy so she wont dump the asshole right away, instead she will stay with the asshole. Girls are idiots. They don't realize that the nice guy has been there all along. He never had to pretend to be a good guy to get girls because he is naturally like that. However, girls don't see it for some reason or another. They look at the nice guy as a friend, a trusted companion to whom they can tell their sad story to about their asshole boyfriend. Since girls get attached to things that pay attention to them, they think of the nice guy as a friend. A FRIEND. They don't say, "Oh he's hot" or "I want to have his children" about the nice guy, they just want the emotional support. When they get the emotional support from the nice guy, they don't need it from the asshole. The nice guy gets the shit end of the stick while the asshole gets all the action. I am starting to wonder if being a nice guy is really the route to take...

Perhaps another reason why girls fall for the asshole is because assholes ignore the girl they are with. The women wonder, "Why isn't he paying attention to me?" so they explore why. They poke and prod and get closer to the asshole. They start to get easier with each attempt to get closer. The asshole finally says, "I've let this beauty dangle long enough, time to boat this bass". It is then he puts on his charade and the girl feels like she has won him… even though all she has won is an asshole.

Once you have gone down the path as a nice guy or a "listener" you can't turn back. The girl will always go after the assholes because there are always nice guys there to listen. Once you realize that you are a "listener" you cant do anything about it… just pack up and close shop. There is and never will be a situation where the nice guy will get the girl he has a crush on. It just doesn't work like that. The girl wont "come to her senses" and realize what an asshole her boyfriend is like in the movies… instead she will just go after another asshole, and unless you stop being a nice guy, she will never go after you. Women complain that there are no nice guys in the world. Right. They are obviously not looking hard enough because there are nice guys EVERYWHERE!!!! Girls aren't looking for nice guys… they say they are but they're not. They are looking for the perfect asshole, but there is NO SUCH THING as the perfect asshole.

All in all, the nice guy gets the shaft. To all the girls out there with boyfriends that don't treat you with respect, that don't listen to you, and that don't care about you I say this; look next to you. The guy that has been standing next to you the whole time is the guy you have been looking for. He is what you want your asshole to be like. He knows more about you than you know about yourself… because he has listened to it all. Natehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03157998521922783443noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33881601.post-91963934937625488432008-02-09T21:14:00.000-05:002008-02-09T21:22:29.327-05:00THE PATRIOTS GOT SCREWED - Proof!
I found this video in the facebook group called 'THE PATS GOT SCREWED (WITH PROOF)' and everyone needs to see it. I didn't know what to think of it at first, but then I realized it was really quiet so I turned my sound wayyyy up. The guy makes a lot of great points.

http://www.i-am-bored.com/bored_link.cfm?link_id=27384

If you watch the video, you will see that by the end of the game, there was a 50 second difference between how time should have been kept and how it was actually kept, with about 7 seconds even being added throughout the course of the last minute. This means that when, somehow, Eli managed to not get sacked on that play the game was over...the last touchdown should not have counted and final the score should have been 14-10 PATRIOTS!

The Patriots got royally fucked. Funny thing is I just found out that this video has been banned from youtube. Kind of fishy don't you think? Maybe eventually this video will reach someone who can bring this to the attention of the NFL...
Natehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03157998521922783443noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33881601.post-29758533802533217202008-02-04T12:21:00.000-05:002008-02-04T13:05:15.189-05:00The Big Let DownOh my, oh my, oh freaking my!!! Yes this is about the Superbowl, deal with it...

Where to begin...hmmm. I'll start off congratulating the huge underdogs as they obviously deserved it much more than the patriots in that game. In my eyes, all i see are flaws. Flaws on many sides of the ball. Starting with how horrible the referees have been this entire season (please fire them all). Now, don't get me wrong, the ref's didn't do all that bad in this game surprisingly. Except for the first half on 2 plays that come to mind that contributed to the outcome.

The pass from Eli to A. Toomer that went for, I don't know, 50 yards ish? When Toomer BLATENTLY shoved the safety in the face to knock him out of the way for the ball, which should have been a pass interference on the Giants. Thus, would take away their first FG I believe.

I think this was in the 2nd Quarter...where I believe Manning and Bradshaw had some miscommunication and fumbled the ball. The Patriots guy CLEARLY landed on top of the ball...yet for some reason they say the Giants have it? Ok buddy... Whatever you say.

Anyway, poor calls aside. It turned out to be just like any other close game the Patriot's had. They don't do shit until the last minutes of the 4th quarter and figure it would be enough to win. Why the hell not play like that all game? Morons... Also, was it just me or did Brady's Offensive line seem to be playing hungover? I mean good god, my grandma could of done a better job at blocking.

Last but definitely not least. Whoever decided it was a good idea to go for it in the first half at 4th & 13 instead of kicking a FG for the extra 3 points, should be fired...Yes, I don't give a crap if it was Belichick's idea or not. Pathetic, does not even describe how this game was stragetized and played.

Before I feel my brain explode anymore, I'll just end it with this:
I am so glad you guys decided to play like a Highschool football team in the biggest game of your careers. Good Game. You didn't deserve to win this. I haven't been this dissappointed and or felt this let down since the Bledsoe era. There, I said it.

The whole season means nothing without that win. None of this 18-0 bullshit. In my eyes they are 0-1.
Natehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03157998521922783443noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33881601.post-81492407834614035622008-01-29T23:45:00.000-05:002008-01-29T23:59:43.861-05:00Superbowl Baby!!!!Here's the scoop...
